    I'm at the beach, but it's in Gulf Port, Ms. Definitely not the same as Florida .

    Trucks are VERY scarce down here right now. Your dispatcher should go back to school or be fired.

    He waits on brokered loads too much. Since he always has trucks down here, he should spend a week in Florida knocking on doors making business contacts.

    Actually--and not being ####y--most produce out of the south--not just fla--is either purchased by a broker(for large chain)or customer pick-up-as in the shipper doesn't arrange for the transport--there are few exceptions--IMHO--the best way to get freight out of any area actually--is to solicit the receivers in your area or the area you are trying to get to--all the large grocery chains(except wallyworld)have produce buyers--many are buyer broker combinations--and they put out yearly bids for their work--your boss would be much better served--talking with the larger retail outlets in his area and finding out how they get their product--
