If you wany local in the Idaho Falls area check out the fertilizer companies that supply fertilizer for farmers... They have seasonal openings every spring and fall... Some will keep you on for most of the year if your a hard worker... But don't expect really nice equipment... You would be hauling fertilizer from the plant to fields where you will load an applicator then go get another load... Rinse and repeat all day, and some of the night at times. No log books as it is exempt, but it is seat time. Not going to be racking up thousands of miles either.
Just check with what ever companies you want to upgrade to to see if they will accept this kind of experience. -
only diff between dry van and reefer is now you've got a motor behind your sleeper cab howling all night you may get to go to different cold storage warehouses like McDonalds and all the icecream and cheese factories woo hoo huh you will have to get your delivery to the warehouse within time slots otherwise face the wrath of the dock hand receiver. other than that life is good.

This is true. However once you get used to being rocked to sleep every night it's hard to not have one.
