Should always have books. Fiction & non-fiction. Heavy & light. Several of each (5-6).

But buy a reading light. No such thing as too much illumination. Several decent types could work.

If it’s an older truck and not been cared for, consider “pre-clean” of exterior areas. Soak with appropriate chem & brush prior to truck wash.

Truck wash can’t do it all.

In the same vein, after exiting truck wash is time to apply several coats of RAIN-X. Especially side glass & mirrors.

They sell a rubbing compound for cleaning glass. Use on interior. Don’t try to do all at once.

If you don’t have a decent CB (10-miles), then time to start reading up on how to improve your truck.

1). Better coax (RG8X). How to route.

2). Better antennas (probably need top load: Skipshooter-brand . To 13’5”). PVC tubing and cap cut to store antennas.

4). SWR Meter. How to use.

5). APACHE 3800 foam lined transport case from Harbor Freight to store everything.

6). Dedicated tool & gear bag (Bucket Boss)

    Make a plan.

I’ve never had a week since 1997 a Radio didn’t make me money or save me time.

You could also look on Google maps for attractions in your area. Sometimes theres something cool to see or do nearby. I am surprised at all the auto related museums I find everywhere, for example.

One of my favorite things to do while driving is auctioneering. I sell all kinds of stuff I see along the way. I taught myself and seriously I got better at it than some of the local auctioneers. I also like audio books. If you're religious listen to the Bible. That takes a long time to get through.

    Metallica88 and 062 Thank this.
