I'm trying to figure out what company to go with since i have a 15+ speeding ticket. if you know any more that allow a bad driving record, please let me know.
I'm looking for:
flatbed
tuition reimbursement
Sunday off
no driver facing cameras
manual transmisions
can take the truck home
Swift wouldn't take me for 6 months
CRST wont take me for 3 years
would like to know your opinions of these companies:
Western Express will hire me, but seems to be the worst as far is i know so far,
Got an offer from Raohl transport at .42 cpm $25 and $17 for large and small tarping
May transport is likely to hire me, waiting on the "interview call"
USA Truck is looking to hire me, but they pay less, and i dont think they do flatbed
Other suggestions are:
Melton Truck Lines
Montgomery Transport
Boyd Brothers
CypressTruck
Bottem Feeder Companies

For someone with a major speeding ticket, and very few offers, you have a lot of criteria. You better take what you can get until that falls off. You're options are very slim because of that ticket and your lack of experience. I had a 15 over ticket when I began driving. I decided to go with Western. I did ok there. Made decent money. I ran hard. As for Sundays off, not likely to happen. Try Builders Transportation out of Memphis, TN also

I hear Celadon has some open trucks. Not sure what the current pay rate is though.

im sure it's great! jk
thanks for the recommendation! i don't have 6 months verifiable flatbed experience tho. im fresh out of CDL school.
Is it really as bad as people say? i dont necessarily mind having to go thru some bad stuff as long as i can get the miles, the reviews deterred me from going there yet.Upinsmoke Thanks this. -
For me, Weetern wasn't that bad. It's like any other company to me. I think all companies are pretty much the same. There are minor differences. Western flatbed division is as good as anywhere else to get started. You'll learn how to secure anything, and travel all 48. As for Builders they hire students. I don't know about tuition reimbursement though. Had I not pissed dirty, I would have worked for them longer than I did. I thought they were a good company. I was home weekly and made a steady check. They've changed a little since I was there, they've got 53' trailers and heavier tarps. They are apart of Daseke now. Where are located at?Need4Speed, Upinsmoke and FlaSwampRat Thank this.

Alright good to know, pay at Raohl was 42.5 cpm HHG, but western is 40 practical miles.

Oh yeah check Builders before commiting to Western. They will hire you out of PA. 40 cpm at Western is higher than I thoughtUpinsmoke and FlaSwampRat Thank this.

You could get hired at Melton Truck Lines but they don’t match your criteria.
good luck.Upinsmoke and FlaSwampRat Thank this. -
