Young Owner operator I just bought a belly dump/bottom dump trailer in Montana. It’s a three axle midland. Looking to keep this thing busy next summer how do you guys find loads? I’ve always ran hay and I just find those loads with local farmers. Any tips for a new belly dump driver? What about hauling asphalt on road jobs?

Where are you located? You’ll probably have to start talking to companies over the winter and try and get on for next season.

You have Knife River and Riverside Contracting in Missoula. There’s Hollow over in Butte. Century in Lewistown.

@Gumper is over in Butte. Maybe he has some ideas for you.

Alot of the o/op i saw running rock buckets was working out in big sky/belgrade/bozeman running up into the yellowstone club and surrounding areas of big sky. Lots of work out there. I know thats a bit far away from u but might be worth a shot. I bs'd with a couple dump truck guys that lived out in manhattan and would roll in everyday from there. This was 4 or 5 years ago now so its probably changed a bit. Theres a big quarry out in gallatin gateway those guys would work out of. But it was all end dumps and dump trucks. Cant remember seeing a belly but might be worth a shot
