Wow dude, read my previous posts... or pattys or any of ours. The people they hire are at the "bottom" due to a crap system that does not reward desire. They are not there by choice. But because the system deems them the bottom due to lack of experience ect...

They hire inexperienced people. No reason to consider those inexperienced employees , dirt or scum or any other negative adjective you wish to conjure.
Perhaps you do consider these people( what ever term). The English you studied may be different than the language I use daily.
Within the context of this discussion it appears to be so.Toomanybikes, TequilaSunrise and street beater Thank this. -
No,.. they are just rookies who will ether sink or swim. Thats trucking.
HurstDave_in_AZ Thanks this. -
Insurance has only a small amount to do with a carrier hiring minimal or zero experience applicants. Training (quality training with quality trainers for meaningful durations) is difficult for a small company to do [impossible for many] and for a whole host of reasons.
A carrier and/or insurer must make a huge commitment to assume massive liabilities and risks, putting unproven drivers in heavy trucks that are difficult to master, in a law suit happy world we live in. Training (as it should be done) should NEVER be something a company, of any size) decides to do on a whim and implement in a haphazard way.
Quality trainers aren't everywhere you look and being able to implement a full fledged training and apprentice program is something few have the network and resources that will allow this.Last edited: Dec 9, 2016

Just said some thing about this on another thread.
Bottom feeder companies are a disservice to the industry because they take people that could make a great enjoyable living and make them unemployable. -
Okay. SMH -
Like was mentioned earlier. Every skilled or professional employment segment has apprentice stages that suck for everyone who must go through it. You look at your local master plumber or electrician. You think he didn't have to suffer through sh$t jobs for crap pay in the beginning?
I'm not saying many training companies don't abuse and lie to many but nobody is putting a gun to their head forcing them to make that leap into truck driver training.
