OMG! THAT IS SO SAD AND SO TRAGIC!
-
That is soooooo sad. Boys will be boys, but that is just awful! I feel for his family and for all the kids that witnessed that tragedy.
-
You know that 6 Flags is going to get sued for this even though it was the boy's fault. I feel sorry for all the innocent people who had to witness such a horrible event.
-
Its all fun and games til someone gets hurt. Those boys are gonna feel bad for a long long time...........
-
Holy crap
You know an attorney and probably a jury is going to agree that its because the 8 foot fence is to low -
I guess you can't breed common sense.
"Hey who's up for jumping a fence, which is put up for a reason, go into an area marked 'off limits', and mess around with a high speed machine?"
"Sounds like fun!"
The stupidest thing I did as a kid was stick my head through a railing. Managed to get my head unstuck. No park was sued. And I'm obviously still alive. Childhood should not have to be deadly. It's up to the parents to tell kids why certain things just should not be done. -
ATLANTA, Georgia (CNN) -- A teenager Saturday was struck and killed by a roller coaster at the Six Flags Over Georgia theme park outside Atlanta, authorities said.
The Batman ride at Six Flags over Georgia reaches speeds of up to 50 mph.
The 17-year-old park visitor was killed after scaling two fences -- one of which was six feet tall -- around the Batman roller coaster, park spokeswoman Hela Sheth said in a statement.
The teen, who visiting the park with a church group from Springfield, South Carolina, was decapitated, she said.
It was unclear how fast the outside-looping coaster was moving when it struck the teen, but according to the park's Web site, the ride reaches speeds of 50 mph.
"We do not know why this person was intent on gaining access to this restricted area," the statement said, noting that multiple signs are posted stating, "Danger Zone," "Do Not Enter" and "Authorized Personnel Only."
"Some witnesses have stated that the individual was trying to retrieve something he had lost," Sheth said. "Others reported that he was trying to touch the ride. This is merely speculation at this point, and we are working with park visitors and local police to learn more."
No one on the ride was injured, she said.

Well dunno what to say about that really... Church member??????
I know If I was back there I sure would be paying attention to where the coaster was at.. So, trying to touch the ride I can believe.. -
i saw this story on the news this morning. evidentily there was two kids who jumped the fence and went over to the rollar coaster. seems to be the one that died tried to grab somebodies legs who was riding the coaster and somehow missed and got killed. now if he would have grabbed somebody he could have seriously hurt them instead of himself. he was up to no good and paid the ultimate price. god works in mysterious ways.
