Hey guys. I'll be starting school in June. Shelbyville Tech. I'm interested in working Flatbed and looking around at potential companies. Can anyone provide any insight on their experience etc with Boyd Bros, Maverick or TMC? Thanks!
Also ... I realize none of the listed companies offer a pet policy. If I could find a reputable flatbed company with a pet policy that would be ideal. I realize I may not get my to have my cake and eat it too.
Thanks for your input!

check into BTC also. never worked for the others but boyd is trying to get into flatbed intermodal (flatbed freight on train cars) in a big way so maybe stay clear of them.
jmthomas Thanks this. -
I drive for tmc and have had a good exp so far. The % pay option lets me make good money without a huge # of miles required. Trucks are nice, well maintained, and issues are taken care of. The 13 spd tranny is really nice to have. 62mph kinda sucks but ya get used to it. Idk much a maverick except auto freightliners and nothing about boyd.
And would intermodal flatbed be a good idea? Are they gonna stop the train for load checks? I can see freight and tarps laying by the tracks.jmthomas Thanks this. -
Thank you guys for the input. It's great how much information is available thru forums. I appreciate the responses!

Above all else, make sure any of those go into your area. If one of them do not go into your area, no need to apply then, right??

jmthomas, some other flatbed co's that hire in our area in case you're interested: R E West in Lebanon TN, Roehl, Huff-n-Puff out of the Woodbury area (very small co.), McElroy out of Cuba, AL (yard in S. Pittsburg near Chattanooga).
jmthomas Thanks this. -
Thanks Flatt! That's really helpful. I called R E West today to get some information. I'll be checking out a few others today. I appreciate this list.

Yeah thats a good question. Driver who brought it to the yard would probably be the one liable to if something came off.

Yeah but what about a load of foam panels (iso)? Strap always come loose with that stuff. Plus i can also see tree branches by the tracks grabbing tarps up. I know they already have train cars for coils and lumber its the other stuff i worry about.
