Lemme throw this kink in your chains.........

Depending on how "good" the person taking your BP is, also depends on the result.

The ones who pump up the cuff til your eyeballs bulge out of their sockets are NOT "good ones".

The increased pain and stress caused by overpressuring leads to a "false high" and can be misdiagnosed as hypertension (high BP).

Also if you tighten in response to the pain it gives a false high.

BTW - 133/80 is NOT "high". Not even close.
145/.. is where you will raise eyebrows at a doctors office.

thanks again for all the replies...
i am surprised at some of the readings ...i work out regularly...karate...walk 3-5 miles a day and do kettle bell training.

i never smoked ,don't do drugs even asprin.i am not over weight at all, this may be genetic for me ...i am hittin' 50.

Did i shoot myelf in the foot really bad here?i need my 6 weeks training...don't know how long it takes before i would have to take a refresher...its been 2 weeks since i got my cdl.

the school shipped us off to either swift or werner...wish i had more choices.what's the difference between pre-hire and actually hired.thanks

you can try werner again, since they have your paperwork, and everything else...beg for mercy, and get it done....see what happens...

Wow, he didn't give it much of a chance, did he? I'm a borderline high BPer and figure the one year card will work just as fine. Or, meds.

You should've gotten a two year card for that reading. As long as it's less than 140/90 you get a two year card. I know I did.
