brakes....

    Easiest way .....lift the rears off the floor release the brakes spin the tires and run the slacks in untill you just startfeeling drag and back off 1/4turn.repeat ......of course im in the shop so its a little easier....

    there's been a couple of times where i've parked the truck. only to have it start rolling.

    i just simply crawl underneath. look for the gaps between the brakes and drums. and adjust.

    i don't crank em down. but just to the point where it starts to get harder.

    no more rolling till the brakes wear down again.

    once i'm back in the yard. i argue with the mechanics becuase they don't see the gap. well, duh. i don't drive with brakes out of adjustment.

    that one particular truck didn't have a brake gauge on the dash. cuz that's what i normally look at for brakes out of adjustment. when the pressure gets a little higher. brake adjustment is the first thing i look for. and that's usually the problem.

    and that was a nice little chart that was posted.

    but i don't think it matters what chamber is on there. dot basically looks for that 2 inches of stroke. anything over that and your OOS.

    properly adjusted brakes and you don't usually exceed 1 inch.

    trailer moving forward at dock probaly had more to with suspension having a auto dump valve they will walk forward 6 inches or so sometimes
