Google how to secure slinky coils. Nobody seems to get taught and it's not in the book. There are some good videos.
Gr8camo Thanks this. -
Some of the most experienced people on the roads in here. Never be afraid to ask a question so long as your willing to listen to the answers..

No matter how pressed for time, get into the habit of doing a complete walk around after securing your load or delivering a load. Make sure your side boxes and dunnage rack are closed and secure. Make sure you have stowed your winch bar and have nothing on the deck that isn't secured. I have seen drivers running down the road with a winch bar or 4x4's laying on the deck. Sweep the deck if you have gravel on it.

And check your load anytime you stop or walk away from the truck. Also if someone "helps you" load and tie down. Check it anyway!!

I always leave my winch bar hang over the edge of the trailer when I lay it down.Crusader66, spyder7723, Old Iron and 6 others Thank this.

Don't be afraid to tell a loader you don't know how it's suppose to be on the trailer. They load all day long. ASK
