This just confirms to me that I will not take a new Pete. Way too many drivers breaking down in them multiple times. Almost every driver with a Pete I've talked to has been down almost as much as they've been on the road... This Cascadia isn't perfect, but it seems to be way less problematic. Must be all the European experience they have with the emissions systems; got a better grip on the technology.

Today is the last day of my HT(always to short) . Talked to my DM about calling Break Down in the A.M.
Just asked to keep her in the loop-thats no problem. This is just like my last stint with May--in
2 years i had 6 different rigs. Nothing but break down problems, 1 right after the other....Always had to fight to get
another truck. I HATE fighting to try to earn a survival. Makes a guy feel " real unwanted".

Not fix, LOOK AT. and they wonder why i waited till after H/T to do this.
Was already late getting home and then take are of this for a second or third
day late getting home. The boss would have de-testicled me!!!

My buddie who still works at May (for a few more weeks) has been in motels for 27 day's out of the last 5 weeks. Thats including 4 day's home time. Like me, he drove a 45 series his 1st year, they gave me a 2013 587, ran great. Him they gave a 47 series with the def on the right side, it's a piece of crap. He's been in a motel near Grand Junction going on a week this time. I'm at Schneider now doing a 6 day's out and 3 home. I'm driveing a 2013 Cascadia, got it with 1400 miles on it, great truck. I'm at the Pilot in Dunnigan, got a deflated trailer tire. Called Emergency Repair (that's right called) and even though I'm on my break and don't deliver to Fremont till 1300, they are sending out a mobile repair. I don't miss May breakdown.

The truck breaking down is not May's fault. How they handle the situation is. They should be doing all they can to get you into a different truck. Nothing sours a driver more than sitting on his butt, away from family and home, making a penance of a wage. $50 or $60 a day for breakdown is ridiculous when it is not your fault. And you will end up having to fight for that I bet.

Well, How May handles it a dealer bsolutly sucks....Last week came off 3 days home[best part]...
Then went to Sacramento Pete dealer for repair...takes breakdown 5 hrs ok LOOKING at the truck,
not fixing it. So off to a motel for the nite...Get back at 10:00am and breakdown still has NOT ok'd
any repair. That does not happen till approx 2:00pm. Truck gets done at 9:30 pm {had to re-do the same
repair that the dealer in Portland did 3 weeks earlier}.The last thing the guy from breakdown told
me "i will move you to the active board and out of the shop. So, i head to Yolo and get to SIT all day Sat &
Sun watching every one else dragging loads in and out of the Yolo yard. So that week i got a whopping 700 miles.
The i get a sugar load to Fresno with 5 days on it from Nampa,Id. After whinning about that DM says drop in
French Camp. After that i get a 4 mile load out of Lathrop to DROP in Fench Camp and not deliver to Eugene.
So i get to sit in French Camp watching all the loads there leave.NOT 1 qcomm from dispatch.
Saturday is more is watching loads leave until i start the truck to move it and the check engine light comes
on again....Takes breakdown 3 hr to tell me to take to dealer in FRENCH CAMP--- ON MONDAY !!!!!
SO, i get to have a " COME TO JESUS" phone call with OCM on monday... So i do not think i will be at
May Trucking after that phone call. 3 break downs, a minimum of 10 days off and being completely ignored
by ANYONE in ANY dispatch office is kinda hard to take...................

That blows. May don't care about retaining drivers, check out the size of each orientation class in Brooks each week. They asked me what it would take to get me to stay, I said better home time, that ended that conversation. If you agree to train, they will treat you better as too miles. I just can't live with new stranger every 3 week's in a tiny liveing space. May's a starter company, you got 7 years in, you can do better. Good luck.
