Breaking Up OTR Training

Some say, "Happy Wife.. Happy life. I say, "NO Wife.. Happy life." To each his own.

 

No they won't. When you go out with a trainer your going where ever he takes you for 4 or 5 weeks, If you cant be without your girlfriend for 5 weeks you better find a new line of work to train for.

 

When I was OTR, the common requirement was that the company required a release of responsibility or similar document to be signed. IE the rider wouldnt sue the company for the drivers actions.

 

Let me see if I am understanding your question. Are you asking about the training time just after school but before you get your own truck? If so that answer is a firm NO! You are with a trainer and there is only room for 2 people in that trainer's truck. I can think of no carrier that is going to allow you to bring a ride a long while with a trainer.

However, once you get your own truck not only is it possible it is regularly done. It's tough I know, but really the girl needs to stay put till you get this phase finished.

 

Let me help you with this, no way can you find training that is worth while to do that, if you can't be separated for any reason, then find other work. Training for a cdl has to be 100% on focus or you won't be worth a tinkers *******.

 

It's easy. Stuff her into a walk in closet. Then go in with your stuff for the two of you including food and drinks for 6 weeks. Neither of you is allowed out into the rest of the house for 6 weeks for any reason excepting bathroom.

You will be amazed at the conflicts that rises up in small spaces. You think you know someone out here in the USA.
