I have been seeing a lot of those big brew tanks loaded up lately and was just wondering if hauling these pays good, as about every day I hear of a new micro brewery opening up, not a oversize hauler just a question. thanx

Depends on the broker moving them.. Some not worth the time and others do have good rate.
Just gotta make sure you secure it right or you can damage the tank -
Most of the microbrew tanks we haul are direct for the shippers. They are stainless steel and the shippers DO NOT want any chains touching them at all, not even through the lift lugs. They want us to use clevises on them. I saw one "Customer pickup" guy throw a strap over the top of one and crank it down before they could stop him, nice big dent on that one.

A dent from a strap? What's a clevise?
-
Yes, a dent from a strap. Food grade process tanks are not very resistant to impact. Think of it as strapping down a empty 55 gallon barrel. The strength is on the ends, not in the middle. And this is a clevis.

Thats one of those loads that you'd better know what you're doing BEFORE you load it. Big, delicate and pricey. -
I was told think of it as an empty coke can

I thought these were called shackles.
-
it's a clevis style shackle, so whatever floats your boat.

what sizes of shackles yall carry?
