Hey Brick... That's the truck I cut my teeth on at PST Vans. Same specs only mine had a 10 speed.

I only drove that one for a month or so before I stepped into a COE Freightliner "Bus" with air-ride. The difference was like night and day, in the ride anyway... the heat still didn't work up north. I remember propping a stick on the throttle one particularly frigid night in North Dakota, just so I'd have enough lukewarm air to sleep.

And for those of you who have never drove a spring ride COE, your kidneys thank you--they are a rough riding son-of-a-gun. My back was about destroyed by the time I got out of that truck.

    Thanks

How many badly spoiled truck drivers do you know that would NEVER open the door of that ride and look in let alone drive it across the yard, or for 30,000 miles like I did???

I'd pass on that rig too but I'm not spoiled though. I used to drive an old (and I do mean old) GMC Bison with a deeeeeepppppp reduction on it that would shake your teeth out. :toothy8:

Man that thing brings back some memories! I remember the noise it made going over bumps... everything rattled and it would shake your teeth out of their sockets. And laptops or electronic goodies? Forget about it, it would vibrate them to death and they'd be dead within the span of a few hours.

I would imagine most newbies that are used to driving anything made in the last few years, would run cryin' to their mama. I just drove a 2005 Freightshaker last week--the first truck I've driven in ten years. Um... what can I say? It drove nice, but that's not a truck--that's a plastic piece of crap. The dash was very cheap looking and reminded me of a Yugo. I wasn't very impressed.

Back then, I was counting the days til I had enough miles under my belt to get a "hood". However, I still like the look of those old COE's and I'd love the chance to drive one again for old time's sake.

Talk about bringing back memories! A cabover! I drove a GMC Astro for a LOT of miles - but I LOVED that truck!! Well, probably cause it had no governor and I could drive the thing as fast as I wanted, but that's beside the point. I never thought I would ever like driving a conventional until I finally got out of that thing and actually drove one ------ never looked back.
