with 140 gross the truck weighs 18,072 and the trailer 25and change. That would put me right around 43000 so i'm guessing around 97 like you said. But thats in the 12' span. So you think the most i'd be able to haul until i get the drop axle would be about 82-85ish? How much would a 4th drop axle add? Not much with the bridge formula right due to the length and span? Thanks for your help by the way
With your six axles you have now, I see permited 20,000 maybe a little more depending on state, 40,000-45,000 on your tandem and then 60,000 on the trailer triple. That would be 77,000 to 82,000 roughly depending how much is allowed on steer and tandems. The drop axle would bring the tandems up to a triple at 60,000 lbs which would gross at 140,000 with a net of 97,000.
Thanks i feel like no matter how many formulas i run and how much math i do i'll never figure this out. I'll just keep everything under 80 to be safe until i get a ticket.
You give me a headache with all those numbers. Feel like I'm back in algebra class and the teacher is speaking greek.
We bid a job to haul and stockpile near 300 loads of 12" pipe to Ross, ND for a line that will tie in to the Alliance pipeline near the ND Manitoba border. Plains is building a gas plant just a couple miles out of Ross that should be completed for early 2013.
The max in ND is 105,500 lbs. (For divisible loads of course). http://www.nd.gov/ndhp/sites/nd.gov.ndhp/files/docs/ndhp921.pdf
