Your trainer, unfortunately, is an idiot. You dodged an expensive bullet here.

Now, do yourself a huge favor and learn from this little mistake. ;)

You met a rare Texas dot officer, unless they have had a serious change of heart, they used to tell me that gravel and hay trucks was their bread and butter. I had one give me a ticket 4 days in a row, different things every day. The third day he was sitting onthe side of the road, so I just pulled up behind him and set the brakes, he came back and I told him I am sure I am guilty, but what for today. lol. He said he reckoned I was losing a little rock, I mentioned that if I was he sure couldn't have known it. He told me that may very well be right, but he could write the ticket, and he did. lol
The next day he pulled in behind me, but his lights on the front wouldn't work, so I just kept rolling. A friend in another truck behind him told me he thought he wanted me to stop, I told him if the sob wanted me to stop, he better fix his lights. lol. He told me to pull over on the cb and told my friend he should go ahead and pull over too. It cost 122.50 to call him an sob, but the judge threw it out. lol

Texas was always bad about writing a laundry list, but only fining you for one thing. When I had a dumptruck, I finally got to where I left a mud flap off, so they could easily see something to write up, saved a lot of time, and I think they appreciated it. lol

I learned this lesson about interstates and weight exemptions 11 years ago the hard way also the fault of my boss. On our oilfield exemption we were allowed 10% over but he failed to communicate to me all exemptions are canceled on the interstate. They were only good on Texas State Roads............he paid the fine..........
