They have a new lease program. $750/month for the truck and trailer. The rates are cut from the old lease program but there isn’t a $4400 payment every month either

Be sure to let us all know how it works out...

Am on the $4400/month lease. If you work, you’ll make more. If you want banker’s hours, do the $750/month.

Gotcha, so the $750 a month means sacrificing good paying loads and hours pretty much?

Not really. An average driver would lose around $5000/year on the $750 lease. I’m not an average driver. I pull 4-5 loads a day, 6 days a week. For me, the money is considerably better with the $4400/month lease. For someone that has a family and takes time off, the $750/month would be the better option. Don’t get set on the $750 number either. You have to pay $2/gallon for your fuel, insurance, & maintenance. I know several guys that have quit because they were either losing money or just breaking even. If you are are serious about it, find an O/O, work for them for a month or two, that way you don’t have to sign a contract. Then, if you see that there is money to be made, get your own truck and go from there.

4-5 load the day? Are you with their sand division for the crude oil. Some pretty good loads right there. Regardless, I'm sure I'd be making more on their lease program then I am making over the road as a tanker driver with Schneider. I know how the owner op game works too cuz I drove for them for about a year and learned a lot of good things. But I also know that every company has their ups and downs. What I like about them is that they have the walk away just in case it is bad
