Brit Recognized as World's First 'Genderless' Person

A Brit named Norrie May-Welby, who was dissatisfied after a sex change operation to become a woman, decided to become the worlds first "genderless" person, the Telegraph reported.
May-Welby, 48, was born a man and had a sex change operation in 1990, at age 28, to become a woman, the paper reported.
But May-Welby eventually became unhappy as a woman, opting to reject both genders. May-Welby is now officially recognized as a person of no specific gender, the Telegraph reported.
May-Welby, who moved to Australia at age 7, had her birth certificate altered to reflect the no-gender classification given to her by doctors.
"The concepts of man or woman dont fit me. The simplest solution is not to have any sex identification," May-Welby was quoted by the Telegraph.
"Many people like the idea of being genderless," said a spokesman for the U.K.s Gender Trust.

During the transition, if the gender is not yet final, some have called them shim.

Julia Sweeney as Pat, that was funny. I used to get phone calls looking for Chris, they were young girls looking for a jock named Christopher, not my sister in law or my cousin's wife.
