Hey Mr Ed, do you have an update how much they start van drivers? I've got a year experience.
Also, do they do the bonus dance? How many, how much, and how realistic are they? -
Put in my app. Crossing my fingers!
MrEd, Rocknroller4 and hoosiergirl Thank this. -
It gets cold up there. True. But it helps keep out the riffraff. Lol. And when it is that cold, the roads dont get as crummy as you might think. When its that cold, everything is dry as can be. Often times the snow just blows off instead of sticking abd getting so slick. And, it isnt that cold all winter. Sometimes it gets above zero once in a while. Just make sure you stay dry. Do not break a sweat when working in the cold. And you can sweat even that cold. Then when you stop working, your sweat freezes and you are at risk for several cold related injuries like chillblain and frostbite.Rocknroller4 and Knucklehead Thank this.

Also, we tend to run out and back. So you arent really in the dakota that often, and certainly not all the time.Knucklehead Thanks this.

Im not sure what van guys start at. It does depend on experience. I think a newbie would start at .37 cpm in vans. As for bonuses, yeah. We have mileage bonuses both monthly and quarterly. And fuel bonuses. Also extra money for canada miles. Pay for doing a 34 restart away from home. All bonuses are above cpm rates. They do not say ".38 cpm IF you make these bonuses". Here, bonuses are bonuses. And are very reasonable.Knucklehead Thanks this.

Do they get a lot of new drivers through for orientation? just curious what the turn over is.

The turnover amoungst new drivers about the same as anywhere. Most new guys leave their first company before a year. Its an industry trend. I did way back when at my first company. But Britton doesnt have a lot of new guys at all. We only have 3 trainers in the fleet. 2 van trainers and 1 flatbed trainer. And our trainers do not always have a trainee in the truck with them. If Britton accepts a new guy into the finishing program, it isnt just to get "meat in the seat". They really are trying to give a guy a shot, and they really intend to keep him. Or her, of course! If any ladies read this, Britton hires ladies as well, and treats them well.

Sent in my app on Friday, and haven't gotten a response yet. I'm worried because my employment record reads like a slice of Swiss cheese, and their app program gives nowhere to explain things.
Going to give them a shot in a couple of hours. -
I spoke with Mike today Tennesseahawk. Told me my employment record was not great but didn't say no and pretty much said the same as Mr. Ed. That they don't have many trainers and not available at the moment and possibly will have to wait a couple weeks.Last edited: Aug 9, 2017
