Britton does having a training program. I am a trainer on the flatbed fleet. They do also have local work. I think you need to live closer to Grand Forks for it to work though. They have or had one guy who worked for the city of Grand Forks during the week, and drove here on weekends, pretty much from Grand Forks up to Emerson and back. Kassi would be the person at the office to talk to. Also keep in mind that according to DOT log regs, all the time you work for another company is supposed to be logged as on duty, if it is a non driving job. So if you worked 60 hrs during the week, you only have 10 available to work for a trucking company. That's why so many carriers don't bother with part timers working for someone else too.

Thanks for that information and getting back to me so quick. I think I will just try and get some information from Kassi and see what she has to say. I work 40hrs a week, so would that mean 30 hrs I could potentially put in with another company? That is good information about the DOT log regs.

Hey guys, do you know if Britton hires out of PA? If so, do they hire recent grads and what would the starting pay rate be? Thanks!

I'm not sure about Pennsylvania being in our area. It would depend on where in Pa, and if you wanted to pull van/reefer or flatbed. Call Kassi. Her contact info is on our website. As for pay, after training is over and you are solo, van/reefer starts at .38 cpm and flatbed is .41 cpm.

Experienced drivers coming to work here may start higher than than. It depends on how much verifiable experience one has.

Hi amw86. Yes, Britton has a pet policy. I don't know for sure if there is a deposit required, but I dnot believe so. Couple of guys I know have a dog with them, and they never mentioned a deposit. We do also have a passenger policy. I think it is 5 yo family members and older. I have my 13 yo son with me now.
All trucks are currently either Volvo's VNL610 and 630, or FL Cascadia's. All have either a diesel APU (Volvo's) or battery APU (Cascadias). All trucks have refrigerators and inverters. We don't have any shops and all maintenence is done through outside vendors, but our Maint Director is pretty good about getting services scheduled in a timely manner. Repairs are done on the road too. Quick phone call about that gets it rolling too. They are all really helpful and quick with any maintenence issues. Any more questions, fire them across and I'll answer them quick as I see them.

    Amw86 Thanks this.

I just got off the phone with Kathy. She seemed very nice and layed everything out on the table. I would qualify for the finishing program but have to sign a 2 year contract. I am out of Eastern, NC. Britton is on my list for sure, I just wish they had the VA Apprenticeship program in place.
