Hi Ordy. Would you be in the flatbed fleet or van fleet? Probably in eastern NC, the van division might be better for getting home.

I am not worried too much about being home too much my first year. I am in pretty good shape and would love to learn flatbed. I told her I would like to do flatbed and she said it would be fine. I have my TWIC, passcard should be here anytime, and I am going to get my Hazmat when I am done with school in a few weeks and get my license. Is it really 9-12 weeks with a trainer for student grads?
-
I'm not sure how long it would be. I'm the flatbed trainer. Haven't had any new student trainees yet. They've all had prior experience and just needed a refresher and flatbed training. It would mainly just depend on how well you pick it all up.

Thanks man. I've been in aviation in the Marines for 15 years, construction before that. I'll be out at the beginning of September. Britton seems like a great place. Starting to narrow down places over the next few weeks.

They did not say. That does seem like a long time. I guess when I get closer I will ask more questions.

All is going good here Amw86. I had a couple weeks vacation. Just got back out July 6th. Have had 2 2800 mile weeks and working on another one. We also got a message from our Safety Director. They have decided to turn our trucks up to 65. Not a whole lot, but better than nothing.

makes it so you can at least go with the flow of traffic a lot of the times without being a turtle. better than getting turned down to 55! haha
Thanks for the update, sounds like you're making up for your vacation time. -
How many miles per week does the flatbed side get?
