Thanks for checking in MrEd and I look forward to meeting you. Thank you in advance for being a trainer as I'm sure it's not an easy job. How long can I expect to be out with you? Will you be taking home time during the training time? Any and all information you can provide will be helpful as I want to be fully prepared, such as items to bring versus not bring, etc. I expect to be in Grand Forks around the middle of next month then to Sioux Falls. I will have a better timeline soon as I am testing out for skills and driving tomorrow then to get actual CDL early next week. Kassi will then fully process my application once my CDL is in hand but as of last week she says I am good to go.

Do you still live in Sioux City area peelsession. As for hometime, I am sure both of us will get some home time during the time you'll be with me. We generally are home every 10 to 14 days or so. Occasionally 3 weeks. A far as how long you are with me, that'll depend in large part on how well you do, and how fast you pick up what youll need to know. But I can tell you the training time goes by fast, and you'll be out on your own before you know it.
-
Yep, currently living in Sioux City. I also have family I can stay with in Sioux Falls. I'm getting everything organized so I'll be ready to stay out as long as necessary and just follow your lead. Is it possible for me to leave a personal vehicle at the Sioux Falls terminal?
-
You can leave one either in Sioux Falls or in our yard in Watertown. I keep a vehicle in Watertown. We don't really have a terminal in Sioux Falls. Just an office right now. As the company grows, they are planning to build a terminal there. Last I heard was next year (2017).
Peelsession Thanks this. -
Good to know. I'll plan on Watertown then. Thanks for the information and please feel free to advise me on anything and everything before we meet up. I don't know what I don't know!
For instance: Not sure how if you ever go into Canada. Would it be a good idea to renew my passport? -
Definitely renew your passport. Plan on getting a TWIC card once you decide if trucking is for you. Give it an honest 6 months before you decide if trucking is what you want to do, flatbedding especially.Corn89 and Peelsession Thank this.
-
Yes, like Lostnavigator said, renew your passport. He is also right about the TWIC card. It can come in handy. Having said that, I still don't have a TWIC. But I just used my passport earlier this week.
Peelsession Thanks this. -
Good info guys. Passport renewal is in the works. Class A in hand and talked to Kassi today. Almost there!
mxpx148 Thanks this. -
Hey peelsession, you still keeping an eye on this thread? You still looking at coming here?
-
Still here and still in touch with your recruiter. Still waiting on insurance to give the go ahead. I'll contact Kassi again tomorrow.
