I read some reviews of this company saying they were great before a new company bought them. The driver said they leave you sitting and hometime was non existent. Any truth to that? I believe he was on the van side.

I am on the flatbed fleet. I've generally as busy as I'd like to be. And the stats I've seen indicate the van fleet averages a little more miles per month than us flatbed guys do. Britton was not "bought by a newer company". About 6 years ago, they were bought by one of the largest and most established Canadian companies, Bison Transport. That has actually led to an increase in freight in our van division. Britton drivers commonly pull Bison trailers down from Grand Forks area, unload them, and reload them back up that way, for a Bison guy to take on into Canada. All in all, the Bison relationship has worked out well for Britton. Bison leaves us alone to run as our own entity, and we gain freight opportunities in return. The only reason the company was sold is because our founder, Mr. Dave Britton, figured it was time to retire.

Good deal TomatoMan. Remind me, are you van or flatbed? I am down in Mississippi with a new Co-Driver/Trainee who went to orientation last week. I think you'll like it here. I've found it to be a great place to work.
