We tried one of there heavy haul tridrives and it was a big pile. Brand new the interior was falling apart, wiring and sensor issues. It had a good engine brake though

    Little America!

I disagree about the ugly part. Nobody pays them any attention, because there are so many of them.

Old farm truck, probably. You'll see a few of them that farmers bought years ago, and still use.

Seems like I just have to get a ticket, every 3 or 4 years. Today's, was because I lost focus and missed an open scale. In the 10 years I've been coming to the NE area, have never seen that NY scale on 84 open. Would be nice if the ticket had a fine amount or phone number on it!

I see 630's and 730's pulling flats all the time.
    Tanks and hoppers too.

Volvo is no favorite, do know a number of people who run them and all seem to really like them.

It's funny how opinions vary, to me it doesn't look like a truck with the tanks and battery boxes covered up plus I would tear fairings off in my job. I'm not saying your opinion is invalid just different. I drove a few Volvos when I hauled freight, didn't see what the hype was all about.

Yea side skirts and job sites just don't match to good.they get in the way and tore up.Kinda like a lady in a brothel on a payday night. Just keep the panties off as they get in the way when work needs to be done lol

If I recall correctly, those original KW's that Thomas had were spec'ed with ISM Cummins motors, which made them totally unsuitable for what they were using them for. You need a bit more power than that to pull a spread axle curtain van through the mountains. I do notice they still have more KW's than Volvo's, I think they're now using PACCAR motors, also inadequate IMO.

I do think that the Volvo I drove for them was probably the second biggest POS I've been in during my 40 plus years of owning and driving trucks. And that's giving it full credit for the fantastic paint quality, lack of rattles and smooth ride on the freeway.
