It's older, the tag said Rockwell made in 1987. I was surprised that all 12 of those would shear without other damage.

My 86 359 did the same thing. Replaced all the rivets with bolts. Sealed everything back and off we went. 150,000 miles and no problems.

I had the exact same thing happen to me in AR. Going down the road there was a loud noise and my truck would not pull anymore. The only way I could move it was to lock in the differential. What had happen was that my rear end blew. When I got out the truck and looked there was smoke coming from the front rear end.

I'd toyed with that idea. Still might go that route.

If money,s tight and you run local you can get away with most likely, but you get far from home isn't best to let someone go through it. at least put bearings in it and reset everything. it must have at least 750 to 800000 on it

Turns out they only make bolt kits to repair it, no rivets. Found out it's a Rockwell SQ100.

It's a farm truck, he's not going far or often.

As long as nothing else is damaged, There is no reason to pull it apart farther than putting bolts in the Ring gear. I found a center section that had bad bearings and gears and just took the bolts out of it and bolted mine back together. The Truck was back on the job the next morning.

Got the bolt kit today, $17. Can't complain about that. Spent more than that on Loc-Tite and RTV to put it back together. :)
