Yea they just took the load and didn’t say anything or ask any questions. Just glad the load stayed on the trailer. Literally all that matters to me.

Most places the guy unloading and signing the BOL just doesn’t care. We had a situation where we hauled a load of stamping dies and it was the completely wrong load (shipper screwed up and shipped the wrong load). The load was wrong and the BOL was wrong, but the guy at the receiver unloaded and signed the BOL. We didn’t find out until over a week later it was wrong, they tried to run the dies and found out they weren’t what they ordered. They tried to place part of the blame on us, until I produced the BOL signed on both ends.

I once delivered a wrong load of rebar to a new parking lot build. Another driver had picked up the wrong loaded trailer from the shipper and relayed it to me. No one caught it until I was on my way back to the yard with an empty trailer and signed BOL. It was a dumb mistake and all parties involved (including myself) are partially to blame. But boy did my boss and the shipper ever go at it... each blaming the other. I’m surprised they didn’t get into a fistfight over it. Meanwhile I was the only one who actually accepted any responsibility. I even told my boss I would deliver the right load for free just to smooth things over, but he insisted on blaming the shipper. Took awhile for it to blow over but once it did we all laughed over it.

Sorry, was scrawled on my phone, not the best medium for clarity.
This one should be better amd more apparent
What im trying to get accross is the general idea that if you only are using 2 racks, to most evenly distribute the weight on the racks, you go 1/4 the width of the coil in from each edge, leaving you half its distance between the racks, as such, each rack supports 1/2 the coil
As for the first bit (didnt redraw that), there are 2 kinds of coil racks, one requiring beveled lumber and the other where the rack holds the lumber at an angleLast edited: Nov 12, 2023

I understood your first drawing, and it was a pretty good job, considering it was on the phone and on the fly, but then again, I already load my coils that way and knew what you were trying to convey to begin with.
