Broken fifth wheel release handle help

    Have to ask, do you back up close to the trailer. Then get out and check for height and king pin alignment? Glad you stopped before you smashed the sleeper.

    OK I jus bought this truck a couple weeks a go do u know how much it would cost to have it replaced?? And will it be a quick fix ??

    I would say probably 150.00 for part. Probably spend more in labor. I would think about a few hours. Depends if other parts are broken or bent.

    Keep in mind you could get complete slider and fifth wheel plate for like 5-6 hundred bucks at a junk yard. Don't let shop take you for a ride.

    I won't and I thought I would only need to replace the handle what would be the reason I would have to replace the fifth wheel??

    Looks like in the pictures that the slider cyclinder, is broken also. Should be under fifth wheel plate attacked to the locking pins. Is this truck an international?

    Just might be faster , and depends if the fifth wheel is showing wear .

    Check out Jostinternational.com. Thinking you bent more then just that release arm. That fifth wheel has three links that attach to the locking jaws. The fifth wheel has to come off to inspect and repair.
