Breaker,
Driving a Volvo vnl DD16 ishift model 2013 with 500K miles. I was about to back up into a container when the truck would no longer engage from neutral. Tried resetting the computer by disconnecting the batteries totally and reconnecting to no success. Tried limp mode and still will not engage in D. I was forced to have the truck towed to the shop. TECU errors showed MID130 PSID 28 FMI7 indicating a transmission brake issue. After a day the chief mechanic called me and said that is was deeper than that and they need to ship the transmission off to be investigated. But once they removed the transmission, they discovered a broken pressure plate finger. To make matters worse, the entire clutch assembly need to be replaced since Volvo are making a different assembly now. Does anybody have experience on this as I cannot find articles on semis having clutch problems attributed to broken pressure plate fingers. What can cause this rare thing to happen short of material defect considering this is an ishift ( no human intervention to abuse the shifting part of the transmission system).
We'll be going 10-8, 10-10 and hoping to hear from any good buddy out there
