I don’t understand the calls asking if we are loaded delivered whatever when they require a tracking app. Usually it’s “I don’t have access right now to the website” or “it’s easier to call.” or “my teammate didn’t tell me x y z.” or “oh yeah I see it now.”

Or the “text me when you get there”, “send me your in and out times”, “what time did you arrive”…texts…. again what is the point of the tracking app?!

Or my favorite the call at 6:30am when you didn’t go to bed until 1:30am asking if you’re all set for pickup at… wait for it… 4pm.

And these people are literally doing NOTHING and getting an obscene amount of money for their little effort compared to the driver doing all the actual work.

On my phone it doesn't make any noise when a text comes in, or email - because that's how I want it. And then, I typically turn the ringer down when I go to bed too. They can wait for their ####ing update until I've had a good night's sleep and the world ain't gonna end.

I don't really run into this problem a whole lot though. It's very rare. Most loads I'm running are from brokers I work with all the time anyway. They do require tracking but they never bother calling me. Maybe quit working with the ones that do this or cut down your list of preferred brokers to ones that are worth a #### and this won't be an issue for you either?

Tale as old as time isnt it? I bet i put in more hours and work just as hard if not harder than you. So can it with the obscene amount of money for little effort garbage i hear all the time. You want to sit in an office and " do nothing " to get paid ? Gonna have to start cold calling 60-80 people a day to try to drum up business. Then talk to all the carriers on your loads to hear the " dog ate my homework " excuse on why they are late, cant pick up, broke down, or whatever other service failure you can dream up to make my life harder. Communicating is not that hard. What do i tell my customer when i cant get a hold of a driver for 2 day cause he has a bad attitude?

We're all aware of that. Your mission has been accomplished. There's no need to keep beating the same horse.

I won’t beat up on you on this. There is a lot more work that goes into a brokerage than a lot of people think. I will also say if you make more money off a load than the carrier does… we’ll that’s really their fault.

Im sure there are a lot of things that goes into driving that brokers dont understand. I think we should work together more. Customer is the one controlling everything as they have the freight. More cooperation between carriers and brokers would go a long way to making everything more pleasant than it currently is. And in all honestly its probably not as much as you think. Im easily at 100 loads a week to keep that revenue high. Sometimes i make 50 on a load. Sometimes 1000.

I digress, The Glendales are still out here scamming everyone, the ChiTown scammers are still out here scamming everyone. So i dont think ive done enough to even come close to accomplishing my mission. Which should also be the mission FMCSA, DAT, Trucker Report, Truckstop, and every carrier and broker in the business. They problem is there is too much turn over in the industry and people just dont know until its too late.

I agree. I only really work with 2 or 3 brokers on a consistent basis. We have a great professional relationship that’s mutually beneficial. Relationships are what business it built on and service is all we have to sell.

Brings a tear to my eye.

Love to see them go after the dudes in Armenia with their large call centers and double broker operations. The scam literally 100s of millions annually from brokers and carriers alike and the Feds dont care. They want to nickle and dime us all with taxes but wont go after the real criminals.
