TQL called to have a beer load picked up, told them I don't transport alcohol and don't have state permits, to which they said absolutely no worries, TQL is a permit holder so you don't have to worry about getting permits, how true is that ?

The states from origin to destination NJ,PA,OH,IN,IL

He's full if brown TQL feces. Don't listen to him. You're the Carrier, not TQL.

Every single one of those states require alcohol permits. I hate to imagine if you’re going to Maryland-those guys are serious about that sort of thing!

That’s crazy we were in New York a broker told us the same thing, it’s beer you don’t need permits. We do not have alcohol permits either and we did not accept the load. I guess brokers will tell you anything to get their load moved. Such bs.

You know I'm in Pennsylvania and I know when I worked other places we had to have permits for beer.

I'm pretty sure the liquor requires that also, but I've had brokers call me and tell me it's a beer load or it's an alcohol load no you're fine you don't need any permits...

Alcohol is alcohol. Beer, wine, liquor etc etc all requires a license to transport for commercial purposes in PA.

Good to know, as a matter of fact this is not the first time, they have called in past and said the same thing at least twice.

But he only needs a permit for the state he picks up in and the state he delivers to, assuming those states require one.

Well I stand corrected. Some states also require a permit just to transport alcohol through them. Here's a chart showing what permits are required by each state.

    Alcohol Permit Requirements by State

So it looks like the OP would need permits for New Jersey and Indiana if he took that load.
