I use to use Landstar alot. But this year had one that never answered my phone calls or emails after he said he would get me a rate confirmation that never showed up. I called Jacksonville and cancelled my account with Landstar
-
Landstar had the FEMA mre loads and they put it up for 1500 and everyone else was paying 2000 and these were other broker so go figure
-
We have a few no good agent at great wide that is no better than them
-
Those agents probably got their FEMA loads from other brokers is why they were cheap. Landstar agents are individual businesses, and if any one Landstar agent pulls a real legitimate direct shipper, there's a good chance that corporate will step in and take over the account. I can assure you that those Landstar FEMA loads weren't coming from a contract between FEMA and Landstar, but a Landstar agent finding a high paying load and trying to post it for other Landstar trucks or approved carriers.

Landstar agents cannot broker the price to Landstar trucks by the way. The driver gets exactly what the agent has on the load, minus the cut to landstar (~35% depending on O/O or renting trailer, etc) and the 1.5% cut to the broker. So if a Landstar truck had called on that 1500$ FEMA load, they would have been offered everything the broker had on it.

I got 2000 per load
