Brokers 101

    Here's a question - out of all the loads moved in the US on any given day of the week, what % of loads do you think are moved by brokers having to find a truck for it, as opposed to a truck shipping directly without a broker?

    I'm having a hard time believing when people say that brokers are supposed to be a last-resort thing.

    Excellent advice. As someone who worked for a broker, I can say it is all true. If a person working at the brokerage (not the owner, but an employee) gets to be your friend, they're probably genuine, but that doesn't mean their boss won't tell them to get back to business. The boss or higher ups will tend to see them as advocating for you rather than their company and it will make them mad.
