You are not required to do business with a particular real estate agent. Why would they require you to do business with a particular broker?

Wait, so the guys that aren’t smart enough now to stay away from a load that barely covers their operating costs will somehow become better businesspeople when the broker has to show them what the shipper is paying?

No, but they would likely demand more and this would force the broker to take a smaller cut.
The broker works hard for his money too. If he won't make enough on the deal why would he take it from the shipper?
Rate would need to get to a point that it's worth the brokers effort.

What truckers need is transparency in their own operations.

Oh shet, this truck costs me $1.42 a mile to run. Im digging my own grave and dont have any freight to dig myself out with. I either need to quit and sell the truck or get myself some freight with profit.

Seeing the brokers hand wont matter if the O/O doesnt have the nerve to look at his own.

They can demand more now, but they choose to accept the rate and work. There’s not a single person forcing anyone to take a load other than the person choosing to do it. And if they’re choosing to operate close to or at a loss right now then government regulations aren’t going to change anything because regulating someone else isn’t going to change someone who has poor business practices.

I keep hearing O/O are dumb enuff to take the rate so it's their fault.
Sounds like what a used car salesman would say.
Transparency obviously needs to be introduced. If you can't operate in the light then maybe something is wrong.

Do you demand to know what Walmart paid for that TV you're looking at? How about your groceries? What about a new car, do you demand to know what the dealership and salesman are making off that?

Groceries no. Flat charge that can be compared to hundreds of other stores.
Walmart and grocery stores already have a level of transparency.

Car, yes. Car, house, financing, stocks, insurance ect all have regulations on transparency.

Notice what group uses the title Broker.

Thank you for making my point that most Brokers are strongly regulated, so why not in trucking.

The only thing this thread makes obvious to me is who is scared of governments help and who is scared of being without it.

Flat pay on the same load can usually be compared to at least a few other brokers.
