I am surprised it is that high for an order truck. My 2014 Volvo was in the 20-25K every year for the 3 years I owned it. I thought it was high but it seems it was more the norm than I had thought for a used truck. With the fuel saving I have in new truck it is about the same cost as the old truck just for reference. I had a 1300 payment on it.

I sleep so good when I am near a beach. The waves and air is perfect sleeping weather for me.

Basically, what I think is based on what I see. I think, I've been at it long enough to tell b.s. from the probable.
You probably are another Juby guy to get $9000 on 740 miles, while all what the bums like me can get, is that $2.12 freight.

Oh I read them all as well long ago. It was a moral issue if I remember right. But in regards it was a business decision for the better of his company if he would had went that way to put cash in the business pocket. No different than getting a good paying load vs taking a average paying load.

My first Truck was 1992 WS. Commonly referred to as a “Real WS” I bought it in 1996 fir $40k. O dn. $1000 per mo. fir 48 mos. Sold it in 2000 with 1mil.miles on it for $13k. Bought a 99 Classic w/ 178k miles. It had an added warranty coverage on the turbo, a/c, and clutch fan. Paid $69k for it. Payment was $1700 a mo. I understand upgrading, better mpg’s, less maintenance and the like. It’s all pretty simple to figure out. If anyone can’t figure out the basics on their own. IMO they shouldn’t buy a Truck. My increased mpg’s from 5.6 avg. to 7+, sometimes as high as 8 covered my $700 higher payment. Maintenance was minimal. Overall it was more cost efficient than my WS. I still had the high payment, and the last year was tough. Higher maintenance costs, and a blown engine a couple years after it was paid for was costly. Still not bad overall. Unfortunately I wrecked it 6 mos later. This was in 08. Christmas time of course. That was a wake up call. I swore I’d never get in that treadmill again. With a Truck payment higher than my house payment. I bought this Truck for the exact same amount that my insurance paid. Exact same mileage, exact same 50k on the inframe. By this time I had owned a Truck for over 12 yrs. Been through lots of repairs. Looking back it was really just normal maintenance. Regardless, I knew enough about Trucks that I no longer feared the unknown. Add the 10+ years of lemons produced. I end up running a Truck much older than I ever thought possible. It’s been a learning experience. Nothing overwhelming though. And almost enjoyable, doing more and more repairs myself. No way I’d trade up for anything else. The one exception is a big custom bunk Truck. Had a chance to buy a real nice 1998 379, with an ARI 110” bunk a few years back, from a neighbor retiring from Reliable. It was big and orange, Lol, immaculate condition for $38k. Deals like that are long gone. I’d put the reliability of my Truck up against any Truck, any year. It’s all I need. Lots of room, smooth ride, cheap available parts, and very easy to work on. I think I’m pretty good at picking vehicles, always have been. I’ve helped more than a few in finding deals on everything from Cars, Boats, even a few Trucks. I’m not knocking anyone for their purchasing decisions. Everyone has different wants and needs, and has to live with their decisions. Shouldn’t criticize others. Shows ignorance.

Ha ha no I am a simple owner operator that has a dry van just like you. But good story if that is what you need it to be. I get what I can get and also run everywhere in the lower 48 and not confined to my little area. This is one of your problems but whom am I to tell you that.

Also you can even look at my Flow Below thread and see what I run. It is basically all the work I have done since I started with this truck. Do the math yourself on how long I have been out every month. I don't need to ######## anyone on here so no need to go there.

Oh... I love beaches too. The sandy beaches of west Michigan are my favorites. I would not mind snow in Winter. As a matter of fact moving out there from Chicago land to somewhere near the Michigan west coast was on our minds lately.
Out and away from this urban surroundings.
