A likely story. Oh man. I just keep thinking how I’m out here struggling. Yet I’m pretty happy as I go along. I think if I were delivering a $9000 load, almost empty, I’d be almost euphoric. I can’t understand why you’re so bitter. Lighten up a bit. Do yourself a favor. All the money in the world won’t matter if you can’t enjoy life. That’s meant sincerely, not cynically. Just to be clear. Lol.

I’d be interested in learning that one. I’d pay you a % of every lucrative load booked.

Sure sure. Don’t believe him Joe . He’s some type of shapeshifter maybe even from another planet, trying to infiltrate humanity. Lol.

Dude I am nowhere near bitter. You said you respect tall Joe for keeping it honest with no BS. Yet I’m bitter and abrasive? If everything I have said would have been something you agreed with you would consider it honest and no BS. I call it like I see it. I don’t sugar coat it. I’m firm in what I believe and will argue my point. That said if I am wrong I am man enough to say I’m wrong. I don’t continue to argue just to win an argument.

I haven’t called you a waste of time and I haven’t called Joe a liar. But I am happy to argue all day.

I kind of suspected it must have been yours...not that I found anything shameful or wrong about that post lol but that @Jubal Early Times guy does not instill much confidence in me, so it would not surprise me that he'd try to go for a punch below the belt. I mean, that guy is definitely looking for an outlet of his frustration caused by the overall miserable market situation. The market is bad and $3300 per month plus most likely another $1400 per insurance is tough on him for sure. $1400 is my monthly overhead, so I can do 1000 + 500 Chi-Columbus - chi route for the time being.... and he so much wants my engine to blow out and have me walk home barefooted. LOL
In May 2021, Western Stars were the only remotely possible option when I asked a dealer at Freightliner in Cedar Falls, IA. I am glad I remained cold blooded. I mean had I bought a new truck, I'd probably sell my van bought a open deck or reefer and try something else. But I really enjoy home proximity and more nights at my bed than venturing out for a golden goose hunt.
@Jubal Early Times , your wish will come true, inevitably, as long as the things about the engine remain constant. Unless, I am somehow alarmed or signaled, one day, the engine will blow, and I will tow the truck for a few grand home and will need to rent or borrow another tractor to fulfill my freight obligations, then I'll decide which route to go. That's my contingency: I can afford to tow it and then fix it or replace it. The idea is to squeeze the lemon to its maximum as long as the juice is dripping hoping the squeeze is worth it.
