Pretty easy to get 15-20k in two weeks worth of work. Like I said you are the one that can't drive very far away and it is killing your chances of doing better freight. Short runs can make your RPM go up and make it look like you are killing it without knowing how many miles you drive it means nothing.

To expand on this. You should also look at doing the runs that are difficult to cover. Those pay a premium oftentimes are very lucrative. You can’t be afraid to hustle. Everyone is after the gravy that’s why it’s beat down.

That’s what I did. Ran it till it started pushing coolant. It had blown an injector a few days prior. I kept running it till I got home. Scheduled the inframe. Then decided to have some more fun and ran another 2000 Mile round pouring water through it. This was in December. Lol. Last 100 Mile stretch home, I had to stop twice, idle about half an hour to get any heat. Had my wife riding along also. That was a crazy adventure. Still a good memory though. Do what I have to do. No shame at all. Lol. My mechanic might be able to rebuild that Cummins. He had a friend of his bringing in a W9 bought at auction as mine was heading out. He’s working at a local Trucking company now. Not sure what if any jobs he’s taking on these days. Anyway, you can probably get it done a lot cheaper than a Dealer by a good Independent mechanic somewhere. I hear parts are more than a Detroit. Might have some good prices on Trucks by then. I worried about mine too. Like you, I finally decided to quit worrying and just run it. It lasted a lot longer than I ever imagined. Even the notorious bull gear that was never replaced lasted a total of over 2 million miles. It was still good. Despite the horror stories that everyone worries about, sometimes they never happen. I’m loaded now, Tornado watch in effect in Atlanta. Got my cheap load. I’m excited it’s paying $2.10 per mile. Just had a couple roller dogs. Got barely enough for fuel till tomorrow. Not getting ahead, not getting behind. Yet anyway. It’s nice to know I can walk away anytime. If need be, I will. Meanwhile it’s time to get down in the mud. Lol.

Lol!!!!! Perogies on Cicero avenue, that’s classic. I’ve partied in Cicero and lived to remember it. My wife makes some great Perogies. She just told me she made some yesterday. I’m out here eating corn dogs off the QT roller. It’s just wrong. So wrong.

I’ve been lucky lately, gotten some good multi drops like the 4 drop that finaled in San Antonio a few weeks ago, and I’ve gotten a few pad wrap loads. The worst part of the pad wrap loads is dealing with all the blankets until you get back to the warehouse to dump them off.

I turned down a pad wrap going to a convention center in Chicago a few weeks ago. I saw another driver at a customer down in KS later that day and she was all excited to get back to MN cuz she had a pad wrap load going to Chicago that paid good. I didn’t tell her I turned it down earlier.

Still to gross 'easily' 15 - 20k in 14 days on a dry van, even running long miles is a tall order in my book. Certainly, it does not add up with what I see on DAT or other brokerages loadboards. 14 days, cannot be more than 7000 miles per HOS - more or less. But running that at 2 dol per mile in 2 weeks is not different - any easier - than my getting 7000 miles at 2.10 at a lazy pace in 3 weeks.
