But what if we look at this from the owners side. I have bought into the new truck and have way more invested than you. You should be capped out since you are not willing to keep up with times and emissions.
Brokers offer transparency. Imagine that!

Why, after leaving a despotic environment, are they trying to recreate the same thing here?
Nobody makes anybody buy a truck. Nobody makes anybody come to America either.
The gate swings both ways. If people don't like it here and are so obviously unhappy, they need to consider whether or not to stay.

But that's a ludicrous claim to say that it is foreigners like me wanting to impose anything on anybody. The very talk of transparency and broker's cap is hardly any foreign.
The OOIDA stands behind it and tens of thousands of full blooded American owner operators along with. I must be the only immigrant to touch and argue on the subject on this forum, still I yet to follow the convoy to DC protesting the low rates.
Why not being consequential and stop all that talk about Eastern Euros undermining the market for proud Americans like you? Nobody forces anybody to stay in this business but yet I hear that I haul too cheap and undermine things for others? How's does that sentiment fit in the overall set of American values that is based on a free market competition?Rideandrepair Thanks this. -
Had to take a break and count all that money made this morning ripping off trucks. LOL
Whole argument sounds like the "everyone gets a trophy" "everyone wins".
It's a business, there will be winners and losers.
Winners put in a lot of effort and make it happen.
Losers sit and complain about how unfair it is.
That's why some make it and others don't.88 Alpha, Rideandrepair, kwswan and 4 others Thank this. -
OOIDA says the broker should have 48 hours after delivery to disclose the rate. So how is that a benefit? If you ask they just won’t load you again.
It’s hard for a simple minded person like me to keep up with the mental gymnastics of why something is ok for one person but not another and such, so I’ll just ask this.
How many loads available out of Chicago today?
How many trucks are available in Chicago today?
How will knowing the original rate to the broker change those numbers?
The simple answer is it won’t. So it comes down to wanting to limit another business’ profit while having no limitations on your own.Rideandrepair, Oxbow, Siinman and 1 other person Thank this.
