Wrong. This location has a huge lot. I delivered there often. Unless they recently changed something. You go over and go to sleep. I have bypassed the security shack to park there and never heard a word.
Siinman, Rideandrepair and Jubal Early Times Thank this. -
They folded because they were gettin underbid. Once deregulated they often expanded quickly. Took profits till they ran it into the ground. Always closing up without any warning. Always denying rumors, telling Drivers not to worry. They didn’t go anywhere, turned right around and opened up new Companies in line with the new model. New equipment and cheap Drivers. Unfortunately many made their fortunes off the backs of Drivers. The dumber the better was the saying. They got bigger and richer. Eventually the Fmsca clipped their wings. Then they lobbied for mandatory Eld’s to “level” the playing field. Since they had already been under scrutiny with the DOT/Fmcsa through Qualcomm, something that was supposedly never going happen. It did, not under mandate, but in lieu of larger fines after an audit revealed illegal activity. They created the problem, then lobbied to imposed their fate on the rest of us. Sound familiar?

The load still there at $1,280. I wonder why no one wants it.
It's not all about parking. Usually it's a zoo when you deliver to ALDI. A lot of trucks, many bad drivers doing funny stuff all around you. Then you have the crazy yard dogs who are always mad at something. It's dark, there's a lumper fee usually. A tense environment I don't like.
BTW, the shipper 2 is Global Harvest Foods in Reynolds, IN. Not a particularly good shipper.Rideandrepair Thanks this. -
I was responding in general how ALDI delivery works. It's nice this location has a parking option.Rideandrepair Thanks this.

Obviously the rate is low. Just say no. Originally we just took his screenshot at face value for it to be a 1&1 for the sake of argument but it wasn't. So he lost the argument.
But all your other complaints about every day part of the job? It's dark? There's other trucks? There might be a lumper fee? It's trucking what the heck? Aldi's has the lowest lumper fee's in the business. I don't think I've ever paid more than $30 at one and that gets reimbursed. Seriously though of all the big bad grocery places out here they are a piece of cake.Siinman, Rideandrepair, Brettj3876 and 2 others Thank this. -
Still there, they rased it to $1,300.
The amount doesn't matter, I don't like the
process and the attitude of the lumper guys.
Don't know you, but I try to make my trucking experience as smooth and safe as possible.TheLoadOut and Rideandrepair Thank this. -
That is a lot better than what my dispatcher tried to give me a couple weeks ago. $1400 for 880 miles, one pick two drops, entire load because of times of the drops would have taken 4 days start to finish with lots of sittin in between. I had two words I compounded, one started with F, I am sure you can imagine it.Siinman and Rideandrepair Thank this.

Sixteen and a Honda 100. LOL This was when over half the highway back was "all weather" road. Left at the start of May which meant all mud road.Siinman, Rideandrepair and Oxbow Thank this.

Well if you pull a reefer it's near impossible to avoid lumpers and a lot has changed, for the better, due to the pandemic. The process has become a lot smoother at many places any more you pay via a link texted to your phone. There's still outliers of course but it's not near as bad as it used to be.Oxbow, Rideandrepair, Jubal Early Times and 1 other person Thank this.
