Of course, it would suffer for that fraction of the total - Global scope - value that I am worth and the market is the arbiter of that, not an individual's limited powers of observation.
Brokers offer transparency. Imagine that!

Let's pause the talk about the greed and money for a moment and contemplate with these sublime monastery tunes.
Rideandrepair Thanks this. -
Ok, back to money and greed. Much more entertaining.
Lite bug, Siinman and Jubal Early Times Thank this. -
I’d counter that selection with Molly Hatchet’s Flirting with disaster. If I knew how to link it. No time to learn today. This weeks focus is on creating pdf files. You Joe appear to be somewhat sophisticated. What they used to call “One of them smart Truckdrivers”. Lol. Not a bad thing. My Father was one as a matter of fact. Very well read on just about any subject. He could always get the beautiful women. They were always so impressed with his knowledge. Lol.Space Truckin, Siinman and TallJoe Thank this.

My question is why does it matter?
If the broker is being honest does that mean that $1000 for the load would be acceptable to you?
Control what you can control and don’t worry about what you can’t. Know your value and what you are willing to haul a load for.jason6541, Jubal Early Times, Siinman and 1 other person Thank this. -
Really? I thought he seemed more like one of the type that makes up words and just strings big words together to make himself seem smart. The more he talks the dumber he sounds type. Idk maybe it’s just me. ♀️Lite bug, Siinman, jcatel and 1 other person Thank this.

Exactly. What does what I make matter to your house? Either it's a good run, or it's not. What I make is completely inconsequential.m16ty, jason6541, Siinman and 1 other person Thank this.

Oh no. He’s very eloquently well versed. I believe educated in Europe. Has a better understanding of American Culture than most Americans. Like all prodigies, he sometimes overthinks situations. This sometimes can be misinterpreted as trying to sound smarted than he is. I know because that’s what I do. Joe on the other hand is way ahead of most. His thought process leaves others behind. For lack of a better term, he needs to dummy down a bit, to be better understood. Lol. Seriously he has a good amount of insight on the Industry. His best quality is telling the truth. He’s no BS’r. He takes some flack at times for telling the truth about rates. I appreciate his guts and honesty. Others sometimes claim to be getting better rates, while doing the same type of work. His numbers are real. No BS. Others with their BS may think they’re fooling someone. I know better. Can’t BS a BS’r. Lol.Space Truckin, jcrack08, Siinman and 1 other person Thank this.

I think he has a piss poor understanding of the industry, well except for hauling cheap freight off a load board and doing the bare minimum to maintain whatever mediocre lifestyle he has. His post make me think he views trucking as a hobby. He is unwilling to find more lucrative work because well that’s more effort than he would like to put in. He’s not out here to build a business. He’s out here to fund his time off. And that’s completely fine. But it’s insulting to those who are trying build something to have to compete with a guy who just wants beer money and then listen to same said guy play dumb and doesn’t understand why people hate on him. There are way to ##### many hobby truckers out here. And they all want “transparency”.
What he doesn’t get about American culture is the American work ethic. And the American entrepreneurial spirt. He has a European mindset on work. Do just enough to get by with equipment that is just barely getting by and then lecture people on greed being a deadly sin. -
Well, honestly, $1,000 on 370 miles would have been ok with me, and here's why....
1 day (easy) trip, $1,000 to the top line. ($2.70 / mile).
370 miles @ 7 mpg = 53 gallons of fuel and at $4.25 a gallon works out to $775 for a day's work.
So long as there's not a bunch of BS on either end, I can be had for $775 a day.
So, in the end, it seems like a matter of pride. My bank does not recognize pride as currency and therefore, I can't deposit it.
You can keep your pride and sit in a truckstop. I'll go and make some money.Lite bug, Siinman and Rideandrepair Thank this.
