They won’t be able to hide it anymore… They have to disclose every transaction on that load to prove what they claim is the rate… I have had loads with MERCER where it was the exact same load exact same shipper but two different agents with MERCER and the rates for 100s of dollars apart… Try and explain that one… Yeah

I hope you are right. I don't think it will be that simply of a fix though. Scammers always find a way to game the system. And alot of those guys don't even live in america

And that’s another issue that needs to be dealt with with brokers being overseas and not in this country operating…

Your example doesn’t sound like double brokering. It sounds like Mercer just had multiple agents posting the load.

Double brokering would be if I booked a load with my carrier MC and then reposted the load with my broker MC, making it appear I’m the original broker.

As a carrier, I hope(and im not exactly sure how) that this would help end the double brokering.

As a person, I dont want the government doing anything for me. This issue is kind of a toss up for me.

Won't help the rip-off double brokering. Have to do the load before you can request the rate.

Some seem to think they have to tell you before you take a load.

Yea thats my thought process....Im doing the load for what I need or have asked for. Will this help me in anyway improve my rate per mile? Even if I asked for the info afterwards, you think that broker wouldnt blackball me from his/her agency/company because I now know the rate?

On the other hand will it help cut out the double brokering.......?

Don't see how it would. The double brokers like Landstar, maybe. The one's that do it until no one will haul for them, no. They'll just ignore the request
    and keep on doing it.

Simple fix to all of this.

make BOL include $$$ paid for shipping, brokerage it was assigned to and everything else needed.

FMCSA or DOT can make it happen. Hell even a state or local community can make it happen.

doubler brokering stopped and truckers are happy.

    problem solved.

The feds have no control over a shipper, just the product.
Actually it's not legit to put a broker on the BOL, only a carrier. But again, they have no control over the shipper.

Oxbow and Deere hunter Thank this.
