If your against brokers disclosing I hope when you use brokers in other professions like home loans and stock brokers, you tell them “hey I don’t need to see your fees, I agree to the rate and prices”
Either regulate all O/O’s and brokers or none at all.

So you want food brokers to show how much they make on sales?
Auto brokers?
Insurance brokers?
Can go on & on.
The ones you list get business by disclosing their rate is lower than someone else. And they don't use their own money to do it.
Just get your own customers and you won't have to worry about anything.Deere hunter Thanks this. -
The comment section is an interesting read
Regulations.govConcorde Thanks this. -
so far every broker I deal with in any industry works with me.
for example my car broker, he shows me what his fee is. I either accept or don’t. Even with his fee my car purchases have been lower than what dealer sales rep will do.
the broker that sends me work, tells me his commission and shows it to me.
The only brokers that would bs me was the ones in the freight industry.
when the tables turn and brokers get regulated and the laws currently enforced, the market will change for the better for Owner operators and drivers. The only people I care about in the freight industry. -
Does your insurance agent disclose it? Does the agency disclose it?
Too many to list.
Again, just get your own customers and get 100% -
if brokers don’t want to follow the laws on the books maybe they should get their own trucks and keep 100%.TheLoadOut and Concorde Thank this. -
Well, I have O/O's & company trucks. Maybe the people complaining should get their own and keep 100%
Maybe we should go back to getting authority you need a shipper to back you.Deere hunter, Oxbow, Long FLD and 1 other person Thank this. -

At the tail end of Covid when I was leased on at the previous carrier they tried to cover all of their contract stuff that they possibly could because they would lose money every time they had to broker one out. The spread between the contract rates and spot rates was pretty wild. Now that it’s the other way everyone thinks they deserve to know the contract rate.
Back when load boards first came about, the old tv screens in the truckstops, they were meant for backhauls or to get you somewhere you needed to be. Then somewhere along the line it became a business model to buy a truck and run spot freight. When it’s good it’s good, but when it’s bad it’s bad just due to the nature of the available loads being overflow that someone else can’t cover.Deere hunter and Oxbow Thank this. -
Broker posts the load for the real price he's getting from the customer. Then broker takes endless calls from a bunch of carriers all trying to high ball. After a certain amount of time/calls broker picks the cheapest and closest truck.
This will never change. It's Capitalism 101. Most of these guys should lease on somewhere instead. They can still see what the customer is paying abd probably do better than as an Independent.
