So I now know about my profit margin if I run this Wisconsin up and what ever back down to Kansas City area.. With 2 trips up and 2 trips down (most multitude stops) I took home about $2300 for the week after all my payments.. This was approximately 3200 miles for the week.. I also sleep at my house in my bed for 3 of the nights that week.. Not to bad we will see if this wil stay consistent!!

Starting this week off with a p/u in Saint Joseph to Chicago (I know uck) for a 0500 and then up to Milwaukee @ 1000 and eastern suburbs of Milwaukee for 1400.. So it will be a busy day, and I need a quick turnaround because of the holiday to make this stay on schedule for a 4 load week..

So far happy as can be.. Love being home, love trucking down the road.. I hope the bottom stays strong through football season..

I have read your whole thread, it seems this company stays in the central US. Its this correct? Also are they the same customers or mix you pick up and deliver to

    Hay Windy,

As far as shipping loads out a lot of the customers are the same, once your wherever, the customer is up in the air.. It is usually a broker load from someone like Cayote or TQL or ext..

But we do haul a lot of meat out of Kansas, this seems to be our gravey.. Nice thing about meet, it's 365 days a year 7 days a week.. It don't have a season.. Lol

So from what I can tell, when meet is going out and we go somewhere that is in season, the money is great!!

I have spoke to drivers that state 1st quarter can get tough, but it seems that is the time of year freight slowed for everyone.. But I am guessing u own your truck with no payments? So it would not be as tough on you.. Lucky lady!! Lol

But we do have quite a few dedicated accounts we broker our selfs.. What part of the world do u live? I could tell you the areas we deliver near home if u would like..

So sitting in Southeast Chicago, waiting for them to get me to a door.. Had a 5am appointment, so they are about an hour behind as of now.

Here is to keeping my figures crossed that they hurry the heck up.. Lol

Hope we are all making some money today.

I still have a truck payment but it is only $1375, so it's not so bad. I live in Texas, I like the idea of the mudwest, just really don't care to run to cali.

Nice thing here is we are not forced dispatched. So if you don't like Cali, you don't have to go to Cali..

As far as Texas goes, every state we seem to go to will have fright to Texas.. I personally like Texans, love there state but hate there freight rates.. Lol .. As you have read I usually don't do good out of Texas, usually see about a .30 to .40 cent a mile drop when I leave there.. Going there usually pays good, it's just leaving!!

But I have started in Houston, went to Wichita, Ks (dropped beer), picked up meat out of Dodge to Ohio, and then Ohio back to Texas (Kroger Load?). If I remember right the truck made over $4,500 or more on that run.. I'll check some settlements and see if I can find an exact #....

We also have a few drivers that work for Bruenger who live in Texas.. The dispatcher for that area has worked for the company for a long time, is the step-son of the Bruenger..

Any who help this helps, sorry it's so late it has been a hurry up and wait kind of day, thank goodness for loss leaf.. Haha

Thanks BigGee, it is a lot of work, some risk and a lot of luck.. But in the end it has been a great start to this journey..
