Nice thing here is we are not forced dispatched. So if you don't like Cali, you don't have to go to Cali..

As far as Texas goes, every state we seem to go to will have fright to Texas.. I personally like Texans, love there state but hate there freight rates.. Lol .. As you have read I usually don't do good out of Texas, usually see about a .30 to .40 cent a mile drop when I leave there.. Going there usually pays good, it's just leaving!!

But I have started in Houston, went to Wichita, Ks (dropped beer), picked up meat out of Dodge to Ohio, and then Ohio back to Texas (Kroger Load?). If I remember right the truck made over $4,500 or more on that run.. I'll check some settlements and see if I can find an exact #....

We also have a few drivers that work for Bruenger who live in Texas.. The dispatcher for that area has worked for the company for a long time, is the step-son of the Bruenger..

Any who help this helps, sorry it's so late it has been a hurry up and wait kind of day, thank goodness for loss leaf.. Haha[/QUOTE]

Good deal, I appreciate you taking the time to respond. Unfortunately yea Texas is not too good 97 getting you out as far as rates, but it is what it is.

I'm dubbing September the "Two steps forward and one step back Month" ..

Be sitting in Omaha for the last 6 hours to pick up a load for R&M that needs to be taken to Tyson in Richmond Hills TX.. These people here are slow!!! Better bring a lunch and dinner with you here.. Lol

Anyway last week had a holiday in it, so only turned 3 loads, needed 4 or so I think I need 4!! But 3 loads it was, and I also was home a lot, and still made a little money that week, so not too bad.. I was really trying to turn 4 this week and got stuck in Tooeka, Ks and was told to go home for the night.. They finally got me a load about 9 AM in Omaha.

Don't know why this week has been slow? It's weird!! Is it the economy? I figured cheap China production would increase transport from cheap products needing shipped??

Oh well, all good!! Love my job and thankful for my opportunity!!

Keep up the good work man. You're about the only person that updates their thread on a regular basis. Post a pic of your truck if you haven't done so already. B-)

Does that mean you'll be the first driver to take a load to Mexico City?

Ever have a dispatcher, dispatch you on so many loads you have no ideal if your coming or going.. Lol / I'm starting to think ours assumes I have rockets attached to the side of my truck and that I can travel through time.. No sleep for the weary I guess.. Lol

I worked for an outfit back in '94 that ran me 20,000 miles the first 28 days I was there. Almost burned me out so bad I never wanted to see another truck. I'd rather do around 3k a week now, no more hero stuff.

OMG!! I see post after post asking the same question? Does anyone know of a good lease program?

Yes read my tread!! This is a good lease program.. I get miles, I get home time, I make money!! On the other hand go somewhere else, I don't need a lot of people coming and taking my loads!! Lol
