I am considering working at Bruenger. I would like to speak to a driver about the pros and cons of the company. Ive been trucking 12 years and a lot of stuff you see drivers complain about has nothing to do with the company. When I last checked the company doesn't control if the shipper/reciever is slow as hell. Neither does the company control the weather, or the breakdowns on a truck. Im not taking up for companies , but you do see a lot of new drivers bad mouth a company or someone that knows someone that worked there.

Well ask away my friend.. As far as working here right now, freight is slow and cheap!! Not sure if this is everywhere but from what I was experiencing this summer to what I am experiencing now It has really slowed down..

Now with that said, I would also advise you to wait until spring to start a LP program so you can make some money and save up for next winter.. If you are currently employeed I would stay and wait this out..

I'm sure it is every where, not everyone is going to be honest with you, but I don't want to see you come here and suffer.. I am already suffering enough watching George struggle through this winter.

Now come about March I would strongly encourage signing on.. To help you get ready for this make sure you do a few things first..

    1. Know your #s ( finances ) / What do you need to make a mile to survive in this world, pay our house payment, car payment, electricity and ect .. For me that # is .56 a mile

    2. Think about if you want a new truck or used ( I recommend new) and what the fuel, insurance and truck payments are going to be.. Also understand the payment for this, I need about .80 cents a mile to pay all that mess.. If you want a used truck, it will have a DPF system, I recomend saving an additional .20 a mile for maintance of that system..

Remember you also will need to think about taxes, social security and Medicare this is roughly 15 - 18% of your earned revenue.. Probably need to set up a savings account, and register for a EIN, State tax identification number..

Also Bruenger does not pay for orientation, no free rooms, no free meals so save a few hundred dollars up so you do not need to go in the hole from the get go..

Once here this is how it more or less works:

Orientation three days.. Get a truck on Wensday or Tursday unless u bring one.. If it's a truck with road runner plan on traveling to get it..
Loads: Bruenger gets 30% you Get 70% and 100% FSC.. So if the load pays $2.00 a mile and there is 500 miles the revenue is $1000.00 / a FSC is taken out based on the national avg (.20 a mile = $100.00) this leaves$900.00 30% 270.00 and u get $630 + $100 FSC.. So you make $730.00 on the load, now u also pay the fuel that u use from this #.. So if u get 7 miles a gallon and u put 80 gal at 2.00 a gal = $160.00 - $730 = $ 570.00 made..

If you have any questions I can answer let me know, I have only been here for about 8 mo..

    Thanks..

Just a random question here.... What is your FSC right now? Does it vary by the shippers or set by the week? Thanks just curious about what others are getting for FSC.
