They told me this will only apply to any new drivers, current drivers can stay at %..
My worrie is that if they are only paying $1.10 a mile, that means they only need to find freight for $1.11 to make a profit.. Lol // I wounded If they are making a push for cheaper freight to compete against larger company's ie.. Central Ref.. Lol
I personally don't like it. Say u get a load for 960 miles and have 40 miles dead head, that's what ( 1100.00 )? Now I run that same 1000 miles at 1.70 that's $1700.00... Just crazy they think they deserve another $600.00 profit? I know this can go both ways, but all they need to make a profit now is any fright paying $1.22 a mile and they get the same amount.. My worrie there is that eventually that $1.70 - $2.00 a mile will be dispatched to mileage drivers and we will get the $1.22 to $1.30 fright and be forced to switch or run 4000 miles a week to make our truck payments..
I'm sure we will talk about this more tomorrow durring our metting, don't want to have a knee jerk reaction until I learn more..scottied67 and Bumper Thank this. -
So I hauled a load for Mega Freight, from PA to OR. Drop the last part tomorrow!! It was 2700 miles and paid $4400.00 and I personally booked this load.. The broker called me yeasterday and told me any time I'm in his area he wants me to call him for freight.. Lol
So I started looking around found a load from Pasco to Georgia for $4500 with Total Quality.. While we where working on this, Coyote called and offered a load for $4500 from Pasco to Lafayette Louisiana.. So I took Lafayette... It is about 2400 miles so not to bad..
Need to work towards the house, missing mama.. Lol so maybe back north from LA.. -
They told me it was $1.00 a mile plus .19cts. Fuel surcharge which equals 1.19 and if i run 30000 miles in a quarter I get .05cts more on the next quarter for a total of 1.24 mile. So you have a point that they can get frieght paying 1.30 and still profit. Sounds like the drivers used to making 1.70 will either have to take the low paying loads or they will sit because the drivers getting mileage pay will get the runs instead.

More miles, more maintenance cost, less time at home... But it might work for some, we will just have to see how it all ends up... But I am a traditional person, I hate change, throws me off.. Lol -
Ok I'm looking at the new rate vs the old rate.. I might be wrong here so please help me if I am..
Let's compare this load at 70% vs. $1.19 a mile..
At $1.00 per mile @ 2670 miles = $2670.00 + .19 ($507) cents for FSC = $2670.00 to driver
% is 2670 + FSC (.23 / $614) + rate of $2650.00 = $3264.00 to driver
Now with 800 for fuel / 800 Trk payments that leaves a take home:
Per Mile: $1070.00 for the week or .40 a mile earned (I did forget to add the 20 miles of dead head) so call it maybe 40.25 ish..
% : $1664 for the week or .62 cents a mile earned...
Add 17 % State and Fedral taxes
Per Mile: $888.00 or .33 a mile
% : $1381.00 or .51 a mile
I don't know??? What your thoughts guys and girls??
