Ask in the Walmart thread.
Actually….read the those threads. This has been discussed many times.Brettj3876, tscottme, Flat Earth Trucker and 1 other person Thank this. -
It's real, what my buddy I ran teams with is on schedule to make his first full year.
-
So many Walmart threads right now, all because of 110 grand.
I don't make nearly that much with Swift, and I have no doubt Walmart would snatch me up in a minute.
11 years at the same company with barely a ding.
But it wouldn't last much more than that.
They would not put up with my ways of doing things any more than I would put up with theirs.JoeTruck, p608, Accidental Trucker and 1 other person Thank this. -
I feel the same way about Walmart as I do about Saia and XPO logistics. They aren’t worth the trouble.
Dennixx, JonJon78, WesternPlains and 5 others Thank this. -
I think it depends on what yard you run out of like many corporate companies running regionally. My old partner is running out of Loveland, CO and is extremely happy being there. There are elements he doesn't care for, but every carrier is getting that way.

Loveland is an exceptional wallyworld terminal. Super fast compared to most all the others. In and Out in 2 hours.
.
BTW: You can make that kind of money hauling fuel locally for Pilot. -
Eh, trucking is trucking is trucking. Railroads are hiring like crazy, make the jump and thank me later, trucking is going away. You can make that not working that hard and have a homelife.
-
Trucking is not going away.
Trains are good for only one thing, and it is not getting goods to customers. It is only for general bulk transport to the trucks.
Get rid of the trains and the trucks will take up the slack.
Many more trucks would be needed, granted. But it could be done if the train tracks were paved over and made into dedicated truck roads.
Get rid of the trucks, and where does that leave trains?
Sitting somewhere because trains can not do what trucks can do.SoulScream84 and MACK E-6 Thank this. -
It’s always been that way, although the rail doesn’t seem to moving what it used to.
I visit towns daily with buildings that obviously were transfer stations at some point. They have truck docks on one side and train docks on the other side.Moosetek13 Thanks this.
