The quarterly bonus is very easily obtainable. Do your job and you will make bonus man. There are a few things that will ding you out of the bonus like not getting your bills in on time might ding you. To may out of route miles will ding you. Any infraction with safety will not only ding you but probably disqualify you. But, easily put, if you do your job and keep your nose clean then you should make it every time. I ran over the road when I first started and then moved to short haul after about 8 months. There were very few weeks when I didnt bring home home at least $1000.00 and now we have a new pay policy that puts even more money in the drivers pocket.
On another note. I have posted several times before that it is very rare that a person finds a job at a place that they absolutely love. I can honestly say that BTC is like being at home to me. The owners try their best to learn the drivers by name. How many of the super lines actually see the owners out on the yard chatting it up with the drivers? Not very many I can tell you that.

I was wondering how long I would have to train and what my starting pay would be? I have no flatbed experience but have been driving van n dry bulk for 6 years. Also how much is the insurance for family n is it any good

Thanks hvychvy88. In ur opinion which is better mileage or percentage. Do they have a good rate on there loads. 50 percent of nothing is nothing ya know! I'll give a recruiter a call n figure out the insurance thing.

Mileage vs. percentage depends on wjere you live and run. I live north of Pittsburgh and run out of there all the time, so percentage works really well for me. Drivers in Texas, on the other hand, seem to do better on mileage based on the long deadheads between freight.
I started on mileage, and warched the freight revenue rates (rates show up in your load information screen on the Qualcomm) before I jumped over to percentage. If I were you, I'd do the same and go with whatever gives you the better paycheck every week on average. -
Thanks for the info. I live about 60 miles north of Charlotte so Idk how the runs are outta here. Is the mileage pay the same empty as loaded.

All the Drivers I've spoken to in the Carolina region say they do better on mileage over percentage... Myself living in northern Indiana I seem to do better on percentage. I did give mileage a go for a few months and it didn't work out for me.

Depends down there sometimes you'll dead head 200 sometimes around the corner but never really the greatest paying stuff. I don't run down there very often
