I'm sure the heads up will put you ahead of many of the students. I have heard Maverick has a great training program, so you should be well prepaired. Good Luck ! Keep us all updated.
6am until 9pm. First day was great...went through a lot of standard stuff, learned about the company, talked to safety, talked to HR... BTC's reputation is definitely holding up after talking to a bunch of drivers, and seeing everything in motion here. People here just seem genuine, and aren't busy trying to pull the wool over your eyes. I can't type how happy I think I will be here. Also, I drive past Graceland every day for orientation...how cool is that?
Any truth to the rumor they they serve fried peanut butter and bananna sandwiches (Elvis's favorite sandwich) at lunch?
lol... No, they have been feeding us some REALLY good food. They actually have the nerve to ask us what we want to eat for lunch and dinner. Can you believe that? On top of that, they have taken us to Uncle Lou's (look it up if you don't know), and a few other famous places in Memphis. I swear I would be as big as a horse if I lived here with all this good food! I saw Elvis' car today, and the Lisa Marie and Priscilla airplanes he had too.
Day 2. We did the Smith System on road test today, and the rest of the day we did securement training. slinkies...suicide...shotgun...Alcoa coils (pain in the arse, lol)...flat steel...pop ups...ratchet strap...snap binders... I could go on and on with the info in my head.
Been on the road since Wednesday, and have been through everywhere from Tennessee to Georgia, and back...twice.
