Hi folks - 56 years young, three daughters ages 28, 29, 30, one wife, two grandchildren ages 3 & 4.
15 years full time tractor trailer driver hauling tanks, flats, vans, etc.
Recent experience of only one month hauling doubles with UPS package division.
Unfortunately, this was only for Christmas season. $26.50 per hour and OVERTIME AFTER 8 HOURS. Phew!
Never saw that before, maybe never will again.
UPS is self insured, so the "recent experience or go away" thing the insurance industry created does not apply.
Kind of ironic - I'm good enough to haul doubles for UPS package, yet the bottom feeders are telling me to call back when I get more experience.
What a world we live in.
My full time trucking ended in 2007 when the company closed.
I'd like to get back into driving. I didn't realize how much I miss it.
The music of the driveline with the turbo singing a solo - you know what I mean...
A little about my philosophy - Whether it's your first trip or your 40th year - we're all equal in that without us, the world stops.
To maintain a positive outlook, be resourceful, and accept and make the best of the bad times is what makes us successful in whatever endeavors we choose.
Thanks for the admit. Looking forward to reading more here,
Bucky
